A Good Weigh In

I'm not sure whether I should be proud of myself, or sighing with relief and looking over my shoulder for the fat fairy. Down on the scale this morning, for a grand total of 16.3lbs down.

I'll take it, and will thank all my positive influences around me...without it, I would still be fat and miserable.

Good Friends are priceless

The time came this week to finally partake in a reunion with 3 friends (Thank you Facebook) that I have not seen in many years. I recently caught up with 2 of the 3 , but the last missing piece was joining us in Lockport , NY while up here with work.

It was fantastic. We laughed till the tears rolled down....we cried...we swore...we hollered....we belched.....we farted....it was like we had never been apart.

Sometimes you just KNOW who your true friends are.

Mini Mumblings for a Thursday

So....sigh.....I just lost the "Mummy" title with my DS. The time has come. My 'mature' 9yr old has decided he can no longer call me "Mummy". It now has to be "Mom".

What? I'm still reeling from the day when he turned to me , in Grade 1, and said, "I really dont think you should kiss me good-bye on the blacktop at school anymore"...and then casually walked away from me, with a back-handed wave.

I'm not sure Im ready to give these little things up yet :o(

Ramblings of the Mini Morrisons

DS is 9 and DD just turned 8 last month. Life doesn't get much better than this age right now. Seriously. No high maintenance of infancy / toddlers / pre-schoolers etc....and no drama of tweens and teens to come (God, help me).

A few interesting conversations have arisen over the dinner table lately with DS and I.

DS: Mum, I really noticed that you're not wearing a bra around the house anymore *shovels a mouthful of food in*

Me: Well, it's just more comfortable hun, but Im sorry if I've offended you. I will always wear one around the house from here on in...ok?"

DS: No. That's ok. I don't want to make you feel uncomfortable in your own home so just leave it off.

15 lbs in 15 Weeks

Ok, so the latest challenge has been set in stone in between dear friend and I .....15lbs in 15 weeks, which takes us exactly to her birthday AND puts us both at our goal weights (or near enough!)

Can it be done?  Weeks ago I may have said, "I think NOT!"......today I say, "ABSOLUTELY!"

Would the real Sarah Morrison please stand up?

Is it really time for the real Sarah Morrison to step forward? After years of being somebody's wife, a busy Mum, a dog owner, a home owner, a bill payer, a weight watcher, an excercise avoider, a food addict, a 9-5'er, a cursing commuter.....is the real Sarah going to finally evolve?

2010 will be the true test .......and I can't wait.
